Study Hall

A free after-school independent study program at Queen’s Collegiate under the supervision of the teachers. With the help of peer tutors, students can review what they have learned for the day in each course, do their homework, ask questions for clarification, and prepare for the test before they leave for home.

Peer tutors are carefully selected based on their outstanding academic achievements. They are properly instructed what to teach and how to teach. For their volunteering time, peer tutors are given community service hours towards successful fulfilment of their mandatory 40-hour graduation requirements.

Queen’s Collegiate strongly believes that “Teaching is learning” and makes it a motto for  peer tutors who benefit from this community involvement and are highly recognized by colleges and universities as active students during the admission process. Although this daily Study Hall activity is not mandatory, it is highly recommended to our students.
